Genise, today

Meet Genise

Hey:) I’m Genise and I write middle grade stories set in the world of dance, where movement becomes a lens for self-discovery, courage, and finding where you truly belong.

I grew up surrounded by mirrors and music with a paperback tucked in my dance bag. I earned degrees in both Economics and Dance — because pie charts and pliés are equally fascinating! After college, dance disappeared from my life for years. When I finally found my way back to the barre, those wobbly first days — relearning what my heart remembered but my body had forgotten — inspired me to write the story I'd been searching for all along.

I live with my family in Georgia. When I'm not working or writing, I'm reading middle-grade novels, taking dance classes, or watching Hallmark mysteries — usually with one of my family's amazing food creations nearby.

Let's Connect!

Books have a wonderful way of bringing people together, and I'm so glad you're here.

Whether you're a reader, parent, teacher, librarian, fellow writer, or interested in bringing Dani Grace Dances to your school, classroom, dance studio, or community, I'd love to hear from you.

I can't wait to connect with you!
